Why does the Training Progress Report show that my training is in progress even though I have completed all modules?

How the report decides if training is Completed, and why managers who trained with workers can show as In progress.

Written by Berit Schröter

The Training Progress Report shows if each person completed the training for their role. This article explains why someone can show as In progress after they complete all the modules they took.

How the report decides the status

Most Quizrr programs have two versions of the training. Workers get the basic training. Managers get the advanced training. The job level that each person selects during registration decides which version they get. For more information, see What do the job level options mean when registering for training?

Some programs have a different number of modules in each version. For example, Effective Grievance Mechanisms has 4 modules in the advanced training. The basic training has 3 modules.

The report checks which version each person should get. A worker must complete 3 of 3 basic modules to show as Completed, while a manager must complete all 4 advanced modules to show as Completed.

Why a manager shows as In progress

When managers and workers train in the same group, the whole group gets the basic training. This makes sure that workers never get the advanced training by mistake.

A manager in that group can complete every basic module and still show as In progress. This is because the manager did not complete the advanced training for their role.

How to avoid this

Managers and workers should train in separate groups. Managers can train individually, or in a group with other managers only.

Note: If a manager already completed the basic training with workers, they can complete the advanced training. They then show as Completed.

If a worker shows as 'In progress'

If you've done all of the above, or if your training group had no managers and you still see workers as in progress, try the following:

  • Check that they completed every module in the basic training. Each completed module has a date and time in its column.

  • Check that they used the same employee ID each time. If they entered a different ID, the report counts their training as a new person.

  • Check the date range you selected when you downloaded the report. Make sure it covers all the dates when they trained.
